Last month Acura debuted its 2014 RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD at the Montreal International Auto Show. The car is being dubbed Acura's most powerful and technologically advanced vehicle ever.
Jerry Chenkin, president and CEO of Honda Canada Inc. said, "The Sport Hybrid RLX sets a new bar in luxury performance sedans, but it does it the Acura way. The Sport Hybrid RLX has some of the most advanced technology on the planet, but this sedan is more than the sum of its parts. With the Sport Hybrid RLX everything comes together to create true synergy between man and machine. "
The Acura RLX Sport hybrid is the first vehicle to use Acura's new three-motor hybrid powertrain technology, This technology is a world first, which will appear in the Acura NSX supercar when it comes out in 2015 (after a long time of waiting.) The system combines a direct-injected V-6 engine with an all-new, Acura-designed, 7-speed dual clutch transmission with built-in electric motor and an electronically powered variant of Acura's torque-vectoring Super handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). This technology is supposed to set the RLX Sport Hybrid to run a 0-100 km/h time that rivals it's competitor's V8-powered machines. And all that power with a 6.8/6.3/6.5 L/100km fuel economy rating.
Say what you want about Acura, but you can't deny that the 2014 RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD is a technologically advanced driving machine.
