The 2014 Acura RLX makes the North American Car of the year long list

The 2014 Acura RLX has the honor of being nominated for the 2014 North American Car of the Year, but it will face some stiff competition. Last year the 2013 Cadillac ATS took home the prize, and this year Cadillac returns with two entries on the long list, the CTS and the ELR. The automakers with the most entries between both the Car of the Year list and the Truck/Utility of the Year list are Kia and Chevrolet with five entries each.

The long list will be shortened to about 12 vehicles come Fall, after the 50 NACTOY jurors have a chance to drive all the vehicles. Another vote will bring the list to the top three with the winner being announced at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
