The hybrid RLX is expected to be released sometime this fall. Anyone planning to get this over the standard version and why? How much do you think it will cost?

The RLX Hybrid will be All-Wheel Drive and have 370-hp compared to the regular RLX which will have a direct injected 3.5-liter V6 rated at 310 horsepower.

All I know is it won't be cheap.

The hybrid is the better model.

But it is also expensive.

I will have to see how much it will cost and that will determine if I will buy an RLX or not.

I am not too interested in the regular RLX model. I would like to have AWD and hybrid technology in my next car.

plus tax etc... you got that kind of money??? That is where Acura is going wrong.. they wait this long to bring out this car then over price it so no previous RL owner can buy one,,,new! what where they thinking???

I can agree with you that the price of the hybrid with all the fancy gadgets is out of reach but the RL was never for the average if you think about it. I mean what is the average price range for cars 35,000 being the highest. anything past that is really considered above average for the average consumer right?

There is no doubt in my mind that the RLX is an above average priced luxury sedan but when it reaches $70,000+ I just don't think that price tag suits the RLX. That is a huge chunk of change but I mean who is really going to pay that much, the market is small. And for a bit more you can just go to a hyped up german brand if your worried about status right.

A diesel version would be sick! But it's too bad it will never ever happen.

Just imagine a 6 cylinder diesel or even a 4 cylinder diesel turbo under the hood of the RLX. Fuel efficiency and torque all in a sexy body!

Has Acura never sold a diesel before. Sorry, I am not that aware of its history.

Let's just wait until it is out before we come to conclusions. I have high hopes for the new RLX.

Have they revealed what the premium for the hybrid version is yet? How much saving in fuel economy will the RLX have?

I read the ILX hybrid didn't get many good reviews. The mpg wasn't very good. I'm hoping Acura improves their Hybrid tech for the RLX.

Nothing confirmed, but with the ILX, the hybrid adds on 3k more to the base price. So I wouldn't expect any different for the RLX.

Anymore than that and it would be a mistake by Acura.

I don't think you can compare the ILX to the RLX. The price is completely different on the base price of the vehicle. Plus the hybrid in the RLX is much more advanced. The ILX hybrid is borrowed from the Civic hybrid.

What's different in the hybrid technology between the RLX and ILX? I really think 3k more is a fair amount to ask.
