I just purchased a 2020 RLX sport hybrid advance. I really like the car but there is no carplay. Has anyone found or know of way to add carplay to the infotainment?
I hear that Navtool, Navicks, and Grom all have unreliable after purchase tech support.

I was looking to add Carplay to my 18 RLX hybrid. I've found the same thing with hit or miss tech support after the sale. I'm using Acuralink for now for address input on the go for the RLX. I have carplay with my 19 MDX and don't use it as much as I thought when traveling. I seem to be ok with using Acura navi with my iphone on a cup holder mount with Waze for hazards.

I also spoke to Acura directly and was told that aftermarket carplay upgrades would certainly void the warranty.
I am going to try your approach and use Acura navi with the cup holder mount for waze.

I've tried out Macally cup phone holder, Amazon, $20, out and I like it. I have it mounted in the cup holder closer to the armrest. It has a flexible/rotatable head to adjust for the best viewing, can hold my x-lg iphone 6s plus with mophie battery case, tall enough to reach from armrest level, doesn't interfere with dash buttons, and not in the way of the passenger.

I have an 18 RLX Sport Hybrid and am extremely disappointed with the electonics/no carplay. I cannot interface to my phone, making streaming off of anything but Pandora very difficult (and even Pandora can be temperamental).

I noticed the 20 RLX has carplay. I am wondering too if there is a way to get Carplay installed on the vehicle or even add more icons to play Amazon Music or use Waze. This car is great otherwise.

No factory carplay for any 14-20 RLX. You can add aftermarket carplay: GROM on 2020 RLX SH - AcuraZine - Acura Enthusiast Community

As other have noted, no Carplay at all. I have a 2020 RLX Sport Hybrid and I don't think the electronics have changed at all since the 2018 model.

Personally I don't care. I have Carplay on two other cars and have honestly barely used it. In the case of the RLX (with Krell sound system) the compression and loss of fidelity while streaming turns me off to the idea, and I mostly stick with CDs or (in some cases) MP3s which I personally encoded at the max bitrate. Yeah, still loses some, but nothing like streaming of even XM for that matter (I barely used it during my free 3-month trial).

Oh, what a car though...
