Until the NSX goes up for sale in around two years, the Acura RLX will be the flagship model for the Japanese luxury brand. TheFastLane Car.com reviewed the new 2014 Acura RLX and gave it mediocre grades in many areas.
The exterior design of the car is described as "conservative and frumpy," but that is in contrast to the interior of the vehicle. The inside of the car receives high praise. The reviewer says that it is "almost like a Swiss watch in here!"
The 2014 Acrua RLX is packed full of features and technology. One of these features is PAWS, or Precision All-Wheel-Steering. When this system is working it is still hard to feel any difference in steering though.
The power of the vehicle is just adequate. It is powered by a 3.5L 310 HP V6 engine that powers the front wheels. Way up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the car does 0-60 mph in about 8.2 seconds. This time is partly higher because of the difference in air density when you are far above sea level.
All in all this review sees the 2014 Acura RLX as a worse bargain than the TL, and a less complete package than a Lexus.
Have you checked out the Lexus? Would you recommend it over the Acura RLX?
